About 1/2 mile from the intersection of White Church Road & Coddington Rd.
         On a knoll on the left side of the road coming from Brooktondale,
going toward Coddington Rd, about four and a half miles from Brooktondale.

  This cemetery is now as complete as possible.
Records are from walking this cemetery to record headstone
inscriptions by JanMarie and Cathy Knauff on Aug. 23, 1999,
then again July 25, 2000.  There were some headstones that were unreadable,
also places that appeared to be unmarked graves.
Some of the burial updates are from a record book kept by the Town of Caroline until Nov. of 1959.
This record book listed Name, death date, place of burial.  When used it is so noted.
In this town record this burial place is named Lane Cemetery, White Chapel, White Church, and Hoose Cemetery.

Beardsley, James Hazelitt died July 18, 1948 No headstone found for this person, death date is from the Town of Caroline death and burial records.  Went by Hazelitt J. Beardsley. Found in the 1920 Caroline census, Hazlett J. Beardsley age 50 yrs.  He would have been abt 98 yrs when he died.
Beardsley, Chester died May 2, 1914 No headstone found for this person, death date is from the Town of Caroline death and burial records.
Downing, Josephine died Aug. 3, 1929 Schooley, Josephine,
wife of Edmond Schooley, has same death date.  This record of burial and death is from the Town of Caroline death and burial records, no headstone was found for Josephine Downing.
Morgan, Ada died Nov. 8, 1934 record of this burial is from the Town of Caroline death and burial records, no headstone was found for this person.

Stevens, Harrison died Oct. 8, 1948 Believe he was the son of James and Clarissa Stevens, no headstone was found for this person, this burial records is from the Town of Caroline death and burial records.  Or he could be the son of George & Marietta Sawyer Stevens, this Harrison was born abt. 1864)
Stevenson, Anna died Oct. 17, 1928 No headstone found for this person, death date is from the Town of Caroline death and burial records.  Believe she was the wife of John L. Stevenson.
Stevenson, John L. died July 8, 1929 No headstone found for this person, death date is from the Town of Caroline death and burial records.
Stevens, Lafayette
b. 1822 d. age of 67 yrs.
Record in the Tioga Co. Clerk's office: Lafayette Stevens, born 1822 died at the age of 67 in Candor, Tioga Co., NY, buried in Lane Cemetery, on White Church Road, he was the son of Henry Stevens who was born in Granville, NY.
*[note: None of the above Austin headstones were found in July 2000, except for Sarah wife of Ambrose, and her headstone was near a bank lying flat on the ground, broken and half covered with ground cover.
These headstones were found in 1920's (Worden's records) and again in the 1950's in Lockwood's records.]
