Adam is survived by his parents, Wayne (Mary) Askew, Willseyville, and Cari (Robert) Rich, Willseyville; brothers, Kyle Askew, Willseyville, and Lucas Rich, Willseyville; grandparents, Ted and Leona Farrell, Willseyville, Carole Askew, Ithaca, Bill Askew, Sr., Orlando, FL; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Adam had just graduated from Candor High School, and was best known by his friends as "Cheese." Adam found interest in sound engineering and often volunteered his talents at school plays. Adam played the bass guitar and just recently formed a band with some of his friends. He was a big fan of the Buffalo Bills, and loved to attend games. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at 10 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 17 Main Street, Candor, with burial to follow at Smith Valley Cemetery. |

She had worked at the Ithaca Gun Company. Peggy was predeceased by
her husband Charles and her sons, Norman, Leon an Donald Benjamin, and her
daughter Marion Leonard. She is survived by her children, Charles and
Frances Benjamin, Beverly Krauss, Dorothy and Gary Stroud and Linda Barkdoll.
She also has a brother, Sheldon and Thelma Kimball, and two sisters, Mabel
Howard and Helen Grier, daughters-in-law, Donna Decker, Maria Hawkins, and
Joyce Diles, and her son-in-law, George Leonard. She has many grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Burial in Smith Valley

He retired from the Ithaca Gun Company after 33 years due to health problems. Prior to his failing health, he was an avid hunter and he enjoyed bowling. He loved traveling around the United States and especially enjoyed all his family. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bea Acla Hallett; two sons, Gary (Sandra) Hallett, Willseyville, N.Y. and Kingman, Ariz., Earl J. (Patricia) Hallett, Willseyville, N.Y.; two daughters, Carol (Albert) Ciappa, Willseyville, Mary (Jacque) Ludwig, Williamsburg, Va.; six grandchildren, Debra (Lynn) Hollenbeck, Candor, N.Y., Gary Jr. (Marcia) Hallett, Warren Center, Pa., Jeff Hallett, Indianapolis, Ind., Kristen (Dennis) Henry, Apalachin, N.Y., Ty Hallett, Lansing, N.Y., Jackson Ludwig, The Hague, Netherlands; nine great-grandchildren, Jordan and Kevin Hollenbeck, Candor, N.Y., Kelsey, Kally, Kara, Kipp, Krista and Kieran Hallett, Warren Center, Pa., and Matthew Henry, Apalachin. of Trumansburg, a Tompkins Co. coroner, who stated that the child died of
a fractured skull. The little girl with other children was enjoying
the customary "tricks or treats" calls on neighbors in Willseyville when
she ran from a house directly into the path of a south bound car, operated
by Roger Thomas English, 27 of 422 Jackson Avenue, Endicott. Besides
her parents she is survived by a younger sister, Nancy, and her grandmother,
Mrs. William Blinn of Candor. She would have been 8 years old next
Sunday. |

Jordan at home; her sons, Bill Lohr, Vestal, N.Y., Randy (Ellen) Jordan, N.C., Jeff (Debra Ann) Jordan, Genoa, N.Y., and Todd McBride, Ga.; her daughters, Donna Kowalski, Ithaca, N.Y., Andrea Spano, Willseyville, N.Y., and Janet Pitcher, Binghamton, N.Y.; and six grandchildren. Ross, son of Harry and Phebe Ann Eastman, his wife, was born at Willseyville, April 1, 1855. He married Della Hoose daughter of Charles and Lucinda (Griffin) Hoose, on January 1, 1879. They have two children, Elva born March 3, 1881, and Phebe Dell, born November 16, 1883. Mr. Ross lived at Willseyville, until five years ago (1892), when he move to Candor Village. He is still interested in farming, but also conducts a livery business and deals in coal. Harry Ross was born in Connecticut and came to Tioga County when but four years old. The journey was made with an ox team. The family settled at what is now called West Candor. They were among the first to settle in the county, and still later when they moved to Willseyville only three acres had been cleared there. Harry Ross died in 1895, aged eight-three years. Mrs. Ross's father and mother were born in Caroline, Tompkins County. |

He married Anna Cooley, who bore him four children, Waterbury, Jesse D., Hiram, and Ogden, all of whom located in the vicinity, and reared families. The oldest, Waterbury, and father of Wakeman B., of Candor village, was born in 1793, married twice - Abigail Bradley, who bore him one son, Wakeman, and second, Polly Coburn, who died without issue. Waterbury died in 1848, aged fifty-five years. Wakeman B., born in 1817, married Emline Barager, in 1841, and has four children, Mary C., Delphine, Fred B., and William B. |

Horace had been married 4 times, Hattie 2 times. Steuben Co. is where his children, Seth and Hardy have been found, so I believe this is the correct Horace. |
